When the co-operative first opened, this question was asked fairly regularly, since we didn't actually sell fresh bread. Now, of course, we do, and so the question doesn't crop up so much. Still, it's certainly one worth answering. The reason for our name is that we are a Christian Co-operative, and one of our main aims is to conduct a viable business while abiding by true Christian ethics and principles. That makes us a bit different from any other shop: we have a session of prayers every morning to prepare us for the day ahead, a communion service conducted by a local minister or similar once a fortnight, and generally try to look at every decision and problem with that perspective in mind.
